Minimalistic design

There are very few areas where the US leads the world in minimalistic design. We all encounter this in public restrooms. Off all the places why on earth they have to adopt this here? I have no idea. Pretty much everybody, who had responded to the nature's call in a public place or in a office should have spotted the enclosures that surround the toilet bowls in the restroom. Skimpiest piece of design I have ever seen. Why do those enclosures need a two feet clearance from the ground and Why doesn't it extend all the way to the ceiling? The single most place where you would like to be secure with the solid barrier between yourself and the world is hopelessly shattered in those toilets.

The designer should have been a real genius, in allowing the design to have a free flow of air, between adjacent toilets. How many times have you have felt the need for an oxygen mask ! You're so disgusted that you look up to see if there is any ventilation at all. There is this lone ventilator out there in the corner of the room, which you wonder if its doing the job. The least you can do is to pray for the adjacent toilet not to get occupied.

With this ingenious design, no wonder even normal people, pick the more spacious toilets designed specifically for the physically challenged. A little more space from the door and adjacent toilet gives a bit more comfort !
